Join us Thursday, April 11, for the Loudon High School Academic Celebration at 6:00.

Don't forget about the English I and II Stand Alone Field Test and the early dismissal tomorrow, Monday, April 8.
Tennessee Department of Education has a Three-Year Plan to rotate through all the districts to field test English I and II. This year, Loudon High School must administer the English I and II Stand Alone Field Test.
Loudon High School will give this test on Monday, April 8 during the county's half day to any student currently enrolled in English I or II this semester. It will be administered through the same process and procedures of End of Course testing. This means students need to ensure their computers are fully updated, can access TestNav, and is charged for the test.
While the students enrolled in English take the Field Test, those not in English I or II will rotate through classes during that time.
This is a Field Test that will be used by the state to assess test rigor and accuracy. It will not directly impact the student's final grade nor the teacher's accountability.
The official End of Course testing will begin on April 16.

Calling all LHS families and students: Truthfully, students are the greatest source of information we have regarding potential dangers and issues here at school. Pictured is the School Security Feature of the Loudon County Sheriff's Office App. Please encourage your child to download the app and use it if they know of a potential safety or security issue. Safety is our #1 priority and this tool will assist us in that.

All after school events will be cancelled today.
Due to the predicted weather during after school hours, Launch, practices, and all other sporting events will be cancelled today, April 2.

Loudon High School Prom will be April 13 at Rothschild Convention Center. The last day to purchase tickets will be Friday, April 5th. They are $55 and cash only.

Way to go Redskins!

Good morning, Loudon High School Families,
Earlier this morning, an unfortunate picture was taken, and a subsequent Snapchat post was made by a student depicting what could have been mistaken as a gun. The caption on the post indicated that it could be a gun, so along with law enforcement, we took immediate action to follow up on the potential firearm. After investigation, there was never a gun. The picture was of the bottom end of a stapler. We have taken appropriate action and consequences, and have counseled the individuals to make sure they understand how inappropriate it is to post jokingly about something this serious. Everything is safe here at school. We appreciate the trust you have for us as we educate and protect those that are so important to you, our community, and the staff at Loudon High School.

Thank you to our first responders, county maintenance, and utilities. The building has been cleared and deemed safe to return. We will proceed on a normal school schedule. Thank you for your time.

Families,
There has been a detection of a natural gas smell. We have relocated all students to the football field until the issue has been resolved. We will let everyone know when it has been cleared. Thank you.

Important Reminder that Tuesday, March 19 is the official Junior ACT.
The ACT is a state requirement for graduation in Tennessee. On Tuesday, the Juniors will be taking the official ACT on the computer. It is crucial that students fully update their computers. Please have your students “check for updates” in the search bar on their computers. Then, please make sure the TestNav program will launch from their desktop. In addition, students were given information regarding their MyACT account. Please make sure your Junior has created and account and completed the non-test materials. Following their ACT, the Juniors will eat and be able to go home.
It is important that during testing students remember:
They may not have a cell phone, Apple/smart watch, tablet, earpods, or Bluetooth-enabled device on their person during testing.
If students bring any of these items to school on a day they are testing, they must be provided to the Test Administrator to be secured prior to the start of all testing sessions.
Not to talk to other students or make any disturbance.
Not look at another student’s test materials.
Not ask for or provide help in answering any test questions.
Use only approved materials for taking notes.
Not have access to or use any electronics or recording devices at any time during the testing session, including breaks.
To follow all instructions provided by the Test Administrator
Failure to follow these rules may lead to a student having their test invalidated and/or subject to disciplinary action. We encourage you to discuss these rules with your son or daughter, and to contact the school if you have any questions. Thanks for your continued support!
Seniors will remain at home on Tuesday, March 19, to work on their college and career readiness. If they need to improve their grade, make up assignments, or need remediation, we ask that they come to school that day.
All Sophomores and any freshmen enrolled in an honors course will take the practice ACT on paper then will rotate through their normal classes after lunch. This data will allow ACT prep teachers to personalize instruction to assist students for the official ACT.
Freshmen will rotate through study halls and tutoring sessions in the morning, then they will rotate through normal classes after lunch.
Good luck on Tuesday for the ACT!

Families of rising 9th graders,

ProjectABLE took part in Dr. Seuss Read Across America today by reading to elementary students. Well done Redskins!

Congratulations to our students and staff of the month. Congratulations Noah, Emma, Ms. Roberts, and Stacey and Ricky.

The National Honor Society is looking forward to inducting 32 new members into the LHS chapter. These students have met the academic requirements and have been accepted through the application process. These members will be inducted at 6:00 in the auditorium. We ask that families enter through the event entrance between the band room and auditorium. Thank you!
