At North Middle School, Mrs. Jones teaches a few types of art, but her favorite thing to teach is anything that has digital components or anything related to 3D art. The art room is filled with bright colors. Since the lights are off most of the time, the students use desk lights that are propped on the side of their desks. She changes the projects regularly so the students never get bored, and her favorite project that a student has made is one of the murals out in the hallway near her class. She also really likes her cabinets that were painted by her students.
Emily Harness, an 8th grade student in Mrs. Jones’ art class, answered all our questions about art class confidently and honestly. When asked if she enjoyed the projects in the class, she answered with a resounding “YES!” She enjoys when Mrs. Jones plays music during class, especially Christmas music. After this we asked what art techniques she had learned, to which she replied by holding up her current project, which was a yarn picture. Emily feels like she has improved her artistic skills since taking the class. Overall, it seems that students really enjoy this class!
