Mrs. Young has been teaching timber tech this semester, along with many other skills. Students say that this class is very enjoyable. Multiple people have implied that their favorite part of this class is being able to build, as well as hang out with their friends. When 8th grader Hayden Rodriguez was asked what his favorite part of CTE is, he responded, “the hands-on projects and my friends.” Mrs. Young loves being able to give her students projects that will alter their learning experience and grow their love for new things. She says, “I want students to find something they enjoy doing and use it in their future.”
Students truly enjoy the hands-on activities Mrs. Young provides. When asked if there were any areas in which CTE could improve, students mentioned their love of engaging and thought-provoking lessons. Mrs. Young is excited about moving the CTE classroom to a new location and helping kids find a better future in their career. Another goal of Mrs. Young’s is to teach how to use more complex equipment. These changes could lead to an overall more popular class.
CTE’s main goal is to create a positive environment in which will shelter kids growing interests. Mrs. Young is working on providing an excellent to working environment to help her interested students flourish.
