Parent Link from 10/19/2016
Good afternoon parents, this is Matthew Tinker, principal at North Middle School. I have some new information and a few reminders for you this evening.
Report cards will come home tomorrow. We will be hosting parent conferences tomorrow evening starting at 3:30. Please call our office at 986-9944 if you would like to schedule a conference time.
We will have our honor roll awards on October 28th at the beginning of each grade level’s special area times. We invite you to come out and join us to celebrate our honor roll students.
Our Fall Ball Dance will be on Friday, October 28th from 6-8pm. Students are allowed to wear costumes. Costumes must be appropriate for school. NO fake or real weapons of any kind will be allowed. In light of many of the recent clown costume scares, I also ask that we do not wear clown costumes because many of our kids are scared of them at this time. Tickets will be on sale during lunch and at the door for the cost of $3.00. Concessions will also be available for purchase. Please be sure to have a ride here for pick-up by 8:00pm. Please remember that ONLY current NMS students are allowed to attend. Halloween is on a Monday this year. The same costume rules will apply on this day.
We will host our annual Veterans Day program on November 11th at 1:30pm in our school gym. We invite everyone to join us in honoring the men and women who have served our country during this program. We will also host a reception for veterans following the program in our school library. Our program will feature a photo slideshow of family members who have served. If you would like to send in photos to be included in this slide show, you can email them to Ms. Sara Bergeron. Please be sure to include their name, branch of service, and your student’s name. All photos are due by November 7th. You can also find more information about the program and photos on our webpage.
Finally, our art teacher, Ms. Moon, would like to invite all of our students to participate in the Google Art Challenge. Students have a chance to win a $30,000 scholarship from Google. You can find information about this challenge on our webpage at www.northmiddle.org Please contact Ms. Moon if you have questions about the contest.
Halloween is on Monday this year. Many students have asked if they can wear costumes. Students are allowed to wear costumes, but they must be appropriate for school. NO fake or real weapons of any kind will be allowed. In light of many of the recent clown costume scares, I also ask that we do not wear clown costumes because many of our kids are scared of them at this time. If you have specific questions or concerns please feel free to contact Mr. Tinker. Thank you!
